Welcome
The Peacock was built in 1854 by Horace and Edwin Bastings. The following year they sold it to the 21-year-old George Plant. Plant was to become synonymous with the Peacock, holding the license until his death in 1895. His widow, Catherine then took over the hotel license until 1910.
Today we strive to provide the very best and friendly service to our customers by going beyond customer expectations and doing that little bit extra to make a positive impact on your experience. At The Peacock, we pride ourselves on our great food and wine, prompt service and warm and friendly staff. Our desire is to make your visit a memorable one every time you visit us.
We are located on the corner of High St and Bastings St (melways 30 F9). The 86 tram to Bundoora stops right outside (stop 31) and the Epping line train stops at Merri Station, just 10 minutes walk away.
